Description: Older shelfmark "236" written by hand on paper label inserted in the book. The book, described as Letters of St. Basil, appears in the inventory (ινβεντάριο) of the Monastery's holdings which was compiled in 1688 by hieromonk Athanasios Lomis (Αθανάσιος Λώμης), as noted in the 2001 published catalogue of the Monastery's library by Panagiota Tzivara and Spyros Karydis (Παναγιώτα Τζιβάρα, Σπύρος Καρύδης), pp. 27-9. According to the authors, the acquisition of the non-liturgical books by the monastery could be attributed to the interests of certain educated monks of this era, such as Porphyrios, bishop of Glyke (Πορφύριος επίσκοπος Γλυκέως), or Christodoulos/Chrysostomos Tzantiris (Χριστόδουλος/Χρυσόστομος Τζαντίρης), though this cannot be confirmed.
